Not quite. Skodas were incredibly well specced, but sales were hurting VW so they delisted some items and made them cost options about six-seven years ago, then after that they increased the price of the Skodas.

They are still greater value for money than VWs, and even if they were the same price I think Skodas are better looking, better use of space and have certain more practical features.
